Roommate problems
A Russell Street resident was charged with assault after he stabbed his housemate for asking him to turn his music down on Dec. 12, police reported.
The victim told police that he knocked on his roommate’s door at their apartment between Norman and Nassau avenues at 12:30 am and asked him to lower the volume of his tunes.
The two then started to fight, at which point the housemate grabbed a kitchen knife and stabbed the victim in hand, and then punched him in the head and face, cops said. The victim suffered a deep cut on his hand and bleeding and swelling to his face and was taken to Woodhull Hospital.
Police say that when they arrived at the house, they found the knife in the kitchen sink.
Attacked for iPhone
Police arrested a 15-year-old who they say attacked a woman and stole her iPhone on Richardson Street on Dec. 17.
The woman told police that was near Monitor Street on her way home at 9 pm when she was surrounded by three young men.
One of them demanded her phone and then another grabbed her arm, causing her phone to fly out of her hand. When she tried to grab it, they pushed her, snatched the phone, and ran off.
Police arrested the teenager and recovered the phone, but did not find the other two.
Apple picking
A ruffian punched a man in the face and ran off with his iPhone on Wythe Avenue on Dec. 18.
The victim told police that he was between N. Seventh and N. Eighth streets at 5 pm when two men asked him to hand over his iPhone. The victim ignored them and one of them punched him in the face, knocking him to the ground.
The men then stole his phone, wallet, cash, and identification.
Stalked and robbed
A shifty couple followed a woman and then robbed her on Frost Street on Dec. 17.
The victim told police that she was near Union Avenue at 10:30 pm when a man and a woman started following her. The man then grabbed her from behind, threw her to the ground, and grabbed her purse off her arm.
The couple ran down Frost Street, leaving the woman on the ground, but not injured.
Impatient driver
A road rage-filled driver attacked a truck driver with a golf club because he couldn’t move his blocked trailer on Lombardy Street on Dec. 18, police said.
The victim told police that he was trying to turn his truck onto the street between Varick and Stewart avenues at 2:50 pm when he found that the road was blocked by another truck. Since there was no one in the cab of that truck, the victim got out to find the driver. Just then, a third truck drove up.
“Are you going to move or not?” the other driver asked.
When the victim said he couldn’t, the suspect hit him over the head with a golf club four or five times.
Police say they know who the suspect is, but have not yet arrested him.
Resisting arrest
A pair of police officers tried to arrest a guy for having an open container of alcohol on Greenpoint Avenue on Dec. 23, only to find themselves threatened by a racist, officials reported.
The cops said they noticed the suspect between Manhattan Avenue and McGuinness Boulevard at 8:45 pm and asked for his ID, which enraged him.
“Go f--- yourself,” he allegedly told them. “The Aryan nation is going to kill you and your family.”
Police say the suspect then punched one of the detectives in the side of the head and kicked the other one in the knee. They called for backup and the man then threatened the new officers, also telling them he was going to have the Aryan nation kill their families, police said.
The 29-year-old was charged with assault, among other offenses.
