Frolic on down to the farm!

The Green Meadows Farm at Aviator Sports and Events Center is an autumnal escape from city life filled with animals, hayrides, a Halloween spook house, and plenty of pumpkins.

The fall festival gives city slickers a chance to get up-close and personal with farm animals, said one attendee.

“This is the first time he has been actually so close to them,” said Winnie Chung, who lives in Gravesend, and watched her son, Kyle, bond with the livestock. “He thought it was funny.”

The petting zoo has alpacas, chickens, cows, donkeys, goats, sheep, and rabbits. Kids can feed the animals and the youngsters can even milk cows — as long as they aren’t utterly frightened by the massive milk-makers, like one mother said her boys were.

“They were a little too scared for that,” said Rosaio Delacruz, who lives in Bushwick and attended the festival with her sons, Frank and Anthony.

But Delacruz said her youngsters did love lounging in the pumpkin patch — and the boys especially loved picking out the pumpkins they plan on carving for Halloween.

“I think they just wanted to lay there,” said Delacruz. “They were really excited to do it.”
