BROOKLYN HEIGHTS: Irate pedestrain beams driver with bat

Sidewalk rage

A pedestrian clocked a driver with a baseball bat for blocking a sidewalk on Pacific Street on July 27, cops said.

The 20-year-old driver told police he was blocking a pedestrian ramp near Fourth Avenue with his car at 3:15 pm, and a man on the sidewalk started yelling at him to, “Move your f------ car.”

The angry pedestrian came over to the car and hit the driver in the head with a baseball bat, according to a police report. He then fled on foot down Pacific Street towards Flatbush Avenue and authorities took the driver to Kings County Hospital in an ambulance, the report says.

Brick attack

Authorities are after a man they said hit a 27-year-old in the face with a brick on July 20 in Dumbo.

The victim told police he was leaving a fashion show at 9:40 pm, and was on the corner of Anchorage Place and Water Street when the brick breaker approached. The tough guy asked the victim where he was from, and when he told the guy Brooklyn, he hit him in the face with the brick.

Park assault

A park prowler punched a man in the face and stole his electronics inside Bridge Park near the corner of Bridge and York streets on July 22, police said.

The 35-year-old victim told police he was in the park at 5:05 pm, when a man approached him and asked if he could use his phone. He refused and the guy came up from behind him and punched him in the face, according to a police report.

The assailant took a cellphone and electronic tablet from his victim before taking off on foot, entering a building on Bridge Street between York and Sands streets and another on York Street between Gold Street and Hudson Avenue, the report says.

Bagged

A sneak stole a backpack from a man who was playing basketball in Brooklyn Bridge Park on July 22, according to cops.

The 36-year-old hoop-shooter told police he was playing ball on Pier 2, which is near the corner of Joralemon and Furman streets, at 9:30 pm. He left his bag unattended while he was playing, and when he returned it was gone, police said.

The bag contained $100 in cash, a cellphone, and a credit card, a police report said.

Donut dupe

Police arrested the former employee of a donut shop on Livingston Street for allegedly taking from the till from June 13 to July 1.

Managers at the tasty outpost on between Nevins and Bond streets said the 23-year-old worker was stealing cash for about a month and made off with $1,271.20.

Picked

A pickpocket snatched a man’s wallet while he walked near the corner of Fourth and Atlantic avenues on July 22, police said.

The 24-year-old victim told cops he noticed the wallet was missing at 10:15 pm, and then found out his credit card had been used to purchase $226 worth of MetroCards.

Bagel bummer

A scam artist wrote $9,265 in fraudulent checks from a Clinton Street bagel store to various people, according to a police report.

The owners of the bagel store between State Street and Atlantic Avenue told authorities seven checks were written between June 25 and July 18, all to folks who they do not know.

Shopping snatching

Someone snatched a woman’s wallet from her purse while she shopped in a Fulton Mall clothing store on July 22, cops said.

The 24-year-old shopper told police she was browsing in the store between Bridge and Lawrence streets at 3:30 pm when someone bumped her from behind.

She noticed her wallet was gone when she got to the register to pay, police said. The wallet contained $30 in cash, her passport, and a MetroCard, cops said.

Jumped

A group of three or four guys jumped a man for his backpack near the corner of Nassau and Gold streets on July 23, authorities said.

A 24-year-old told police he was standing near the intersection at 5:45 pm when the group of punks tackled him, punched him in the face, and took his bag. The Northface backpack contained some clothes, a pair of Jordans, a G-Shock watch, an electronic tablet, and his wallet, according to a police report.

Chain game

A shoplifter made off with a $25,000 chain and cross from a Fulton Mall jewelry store on July 25, according to police.

Workers told authorities a man came into the store between Bridge and Lawrence streets at 3:15 pm and asked to try on a diamond chain with a cross.

After putting it around his neck he took off running, cops said. The chain snatcher ran down Fulton Street towards Adams Street, police said.

Rental repo

Two rental cars were stolen from a parking lot on Atlantic Avenue between July 12 and 13, police said.

Someone parked the first vehicle, a Ford, in the lot between Court Street and Boerum Place at noon on July 12, according to a police report. The rental company noticed it missing at 9:57 pm the next day, the report says.

The second car, a BMW, entered the lot at 8:30 pm on July 13 and the company found it was missing at 10:53 pm the same night, police said.

Basement bike robbed

Someone stole an endurance bike from the basement of a Dean Street apartment building, sometime between July 9 and July 15, according to police.

A 39-year-old woman told cops she last saw the Cannondale Synapse in the basement of her building between Bond and Nevins street at 8 pm on July 9. When she went down in the cellar at 6 am on July 15, the bike was gone, cops said.
