Yes, you read that right — professional Frisbee.
Well, technically, “ultimate disk” — since “Frisbee” is a registered trademark of the Wham-O toy company — but the New York Empire, the city’s professional ultimate disk team, is playing at MCU Park on Saturday versus the Montreal Royal.
The game starts at 7 pm, but the team is holding pick-up games on the beach at West 21st Street from 3–6 pm beforehand.
This is just the third game the Empire has played at the home of the Brooklyn Cyclones. This season, team’s official home field is on Randalls Island, but the team is in negotiations to play all of its home games in Coney Island next year.
Frisbee fans can get tickets at the gate, or order them online.
