A trio of crooks robbed a Chinese restaurant delivery man on Flushing Avenue on Feb. 9, stealing his cash and his food.
The victim told police that he was bringing food to an apartment house between Bushwick Avenue and Humboldt Street at 7:35 pm. When he hopped off his bike, the three robbers surrounded him and demanded money.
“Don’t move. Give me the money,” one of them said.
The victim handed them about $15, but that wasn’t enough. Two of the robbers went through his pockets and stole the $400 in his right, front pocket. Then they added insult to injury by stealing his delivery food.
A pair of vultures
Two opportunistic thieves stole a woman’s purse after she accidentally dropped it while walking on Powers Street on Feb. 8.
The victim told police that she was at the corner of Bushwick Avenue at 3:50 pm when she accidentally dropped her purse. She didn’t realize she dropped it until she got to the other side of the street. When she turned around she saw two guys grab it and run off with it.
Expensive bathroom trip
Someone stole a woman’s Canon 7D camera when she left it unattended at a Metropolitan Avenue bar on Feb. 7.
The victim told police that she left her camera under her coat while she went to the restroom of the bar between Buswick Avenue and Orient Avenue at midnight.
When she came back, she saw that her camera, as well as a case and SD card was missing. Instead of calling police and making a report she had a few more drinks.
Land sharks
Two men posing as washing machine repair men raided a man’s Wythe Avenue apartment on Feb. 1 and stole his cash.
The victim told police that he was in his apartment at the corner of Ross Street at 7:30 pm when the two men knocked on his door and asked him if he needed his washing machine fixed.
When the victim opened the door, the invaders kicked him and punched him in the head, grabbed $300 cash, and ran away.
Lap burglar
A burglar broke into a man’s Siegel Street house on Feb. 7 and stole his laptop.
The victim told police that he left his apartment between Graham Avenue and Humboldt Street at 10 am and when he returned at 11:30 pm on the same day, he found his computer missing. There was no damage to any doors and no signs of forced entry.
