Hush
A group of would-be robbers ran out of a Eckford Street home empty-handed on Feb. 3 when the tenant wouldn’t stop screaming.
The victim told police that she was asleep in her house between Driggs Avenue and Nassau Avenue at 2:30 am when she heard banging noises coming from downstairs. She went down to check it out and four or five armed men burst through her door.
“Give me the money and the cellphone,” one of the men said.
The woman started screaming and would not stop. One of the men ran into her bedroom and threw her mattress onto the floor. When the women still would not stop screaming, all the men ran out of the apartment without stealing anything.
Wrestlemania
A ruffian choked a man from behind on Berry Street on Feb. 8 before stealing his property.
The victim told police that he was at the corner of N. Ninth Street at 3 am when the violent thug ran up behind him and put him in a headlock. The victim fell to the ground and passed out.
When he woke up his cellphone, passport, wallet, and credit cards were gone. The victim told police that he was drunk at the time of the attack.
Two-pronged attack
A pair of robbers stole the bicycle and food from a deliveryman on Roebling Street on Feb. 9.
The victim told police that he was riding his bike near the corner of N. Eighth Street at 10:30 pm on his way to deliver food when a young man stopped him and asked him what was in the basket.
The delivery man told the robber that he had food in the basket. Then another guy with a knife came up next to the victim and one goon grabbed the bike while the other one took the food.
Knife invasion
A villain held up a woman at knifepoint as she was entering her home on Jackson Street on Feb. 9, and stole her property.
The victim told police that she felt a knife to her back as she was outside the front door of her apartment between Graham Avenue and Humboldt Street at 4:15 pm.
“Give me your stuff,” the man demanded. The woman turned over her iPhone and cash and the man went away.
Kicking and screaming
Police cuffed a man who they say drunkenly tried to force his way into a Franklin Street building on Feb. 9 — and then kicked a police officer in the crotch when he tried to arrest him.
Police said that the 29-year-old man was drunk and trying to get into a building between Green and Freeman streets at 1:30 am.
“Let me in!” he screamed as he tried to open all of the doors in the house.
When police arrived, the 21-year-old suspect allegedly became belligerent and started kicking at the police officers, landing a kick in one cop’s crotch. The man was arrested and charged with burglary and resisting arrest.
