Masked robbery
Two men in ski masks robbed someone at gunpoint on St. Edwards Street on Feb. 1, cops said.
The victim was walking to work near the corner of Willoughby Avenue at 3:40 pm when the crime occurred, police said. The two brutes made off with a wallet after brandishing a handgun, according to police.
Punched
A 27-year-old man told cops he was on S. Oxford Street on Feb. 29, when he was approached from behind and punched in the face.
The victim was near Dekalb Avenue at 9:20 pm when someone tried to grab his briefcase and reached into his pocket looking for a wallet, police said.
When he resisted, the tough guy said, “I’ll shoot you,” and punched the victim in the face before taking off, according to police.
Teen targeted
A thief robbed a 12-year-old of his phone and headphones on Feb. 29 on Greene Avenue, police reports said.
The kid was near Cumberland Street at noon on his way to school when someone approached and threatened to shoot him unless he handed over all of his electronics, cops said. He complied and the crook took off, police said.
Beat up for $30
Five men attacked a 48-year-old on Ashland Place on Feb. 1 — punching him, kicking and taking $30 in cash, cops said.
The victim said the attack occurred at 5:50 pm, but he was intoxicated and refused to cooperate when police arrived at the scene, between Myrtle Avenue and Willoughby Street, according to the report.
Robber nabbed
Police arrested a 28-year-old man on Lafayette Avenue on Feb. 1, after he grabbed someone’s arm and told them to, “Give me your money,” police reports said.
The victim told cops he was walking between Grand and Classon avenues at 9 pm when he was approached. He shook off the would-be mugger, and ran for his life before calling 911, cops said.
Gunpoint robbery
Two thugs made off with a pair of cellphones and some cash on Auburn Place on Feb. 2, police said
The 22-year-old victim was walking near N. Portland Avenue at 1:52 am when the two attackers grabbed him from behind and threatened him with a black handgun, cops said.
They went through his pockets, took the loot, and made off, according to the report.
Assault at city office
Cops cuffed a woman who they say attacked a security guard at a city office on Clermont Avenue on Jan. 28.
The 34-year-old woman was arguing with an employee at one of the municipal agencies housed in a building between Fulton Street and Atlantic Avenue at 10:10 am, when the security guard asked her to leave, according to police. While being escorted to the door, the woman grabbed the guard by her collar and started fighting, cops said.
Police responded and arrested the woman. The guard suffered scratches and bruises to her neck and back, according to police.
Knifed
A 27-year-old woman was arrested for slashing a man with a knife during an argument at a Lafayette Street bar on Feb. 1, cops said.
The two were arguing in the watering hole between S. Portland Avenue and S. Elliot Place at 4:02 am when the woman slashed the victim on the right side of his face, police said.
She tossed the knife under a car outside the bar before police arrived, but it was later recovered, according to the report. The 27-year-old victim was taken to Kings County Hospital Center for stitches.
Disgruntled worker
The owner of a grocery store on Greene Avenue told police someone emptied his safes on Jan. 27 — making off with $1,877.
The burglary happened after 11 pm, while the store between Grand Avenue and Cambridge Place was closed, according to the police report. The owner said five employees had recently been laid off, and that one had failed to return the key to the store, according to police.
There was no sign of forced entry, and a video shows that the thief wore white gloves, cops said.
Theft at work
A thief inside the public assistance office on Clermont Avenue nabbed a wallet from the purse of a 29-year-old city employee on Jan. 27, cops said.
The employee left her purse unattended in the building between Fulton Street and Atlantic Avenue between 2:15 and 3:40 pm, according to police. She told cops she lost cash and her Social Security, debit, and health insurance cards.
Pain in the hospital
A worker at a Dekalb Avenue hospital had her wallet taken from a counter after she left it briefly unattended on Jan. 23, police said.
A security video from hospital near Ashland Place shows a female patient walk by around 6 pm, take the wallet, and put it in her pocket, cops said. The victim said she lost a bank card, her Social Security card, driver’s license, and hospital identification, according to the police report.
A fashion heist
A fashion-minded thief swiped four embroidered dresses from an apartment on Lafayette Avenue on Jan. 22, according to police.
A delivery person left a package containing the dresses in front of the residence between Cumberland and S. Oxford streets around 4:30 pm. The 27-year-old victim arrived home at 8 pm and the package was gone, cops said.
The victim told cops the size-12 garments were worth $1,200.
Heat thief
A man repairing the radiators of an apartment in the Ingersoll housing complex made off with a woman’s wallet on Jan. 27, cops said.
The 48-year-old woman let a repairman in to her home on Navy Walk to fix her faulty radiators, police said. She left her wallet sitting on the sofa, and left the room, according to the report.
The worker distracted the victim after she returned, and when he left the wallet was gone, police said. The wallet contained four debit cards, a Medicaid card, and her identification, cops said.
Timeshare scam
Some fraudsters duped a Clinton Avenue 81-year-old man into wiring them $6,349.54 on Jan. 31, in a timeshare fraud, police said.
The victim lives between Dekalb and Lafayette avenues, and was contacted over the phone by somebody claiming to represent a real estate agency, according to the police report.
The clever caller told the victim that his timeshare had been sold, and that they needed him to wire money to cover “tax escrow and collateral,” cops said. The victim complied. Cops said the agency was a sham.
Without a van
A 2000 Ford Ecoline E-250 was swiped from Willoughby Avenue on Jan. 30, cops said.
The 32-year-old victim parked his cargo van near Waverly Avenue around 10 am, and when he returned to pick it up at 6 pm, the van was gone, police said.
