Trashed laptop
Police arrested an 18-year-old man for stealing a laptop from a Caton Avenue home on June 10.
The victim said he saw the man take his laptop from his room between Flatbush and Bedford avenues at 1 pm.
Later, the suspect took the victim to a nearby garbage can, saying the laptop was there, according to police. The laptop was recovered, but no longer fully functional and will cost $250 to fix, said the owner.
Good Samaritan steps in
A 31-year-old man was arrested for nearly attacking a traffic agent on Church Avenue on June 10, according to police.
The traffic agent said she was about to issue a ticket to a car parked between St. Paul Place and Ocean Avenue at 1:15 pm because it did not have its parking receipt on the dashboard. The owner came out saying he was about to pay the meter.
When the suspect still didn’t pay, the traffic agent issued a traffic summons. The angry driver charged at the agent and tried to take a swing at her when a good Samaritan stepped in and wrangled his arm in, police said.
Empty pockets
Police said they arrested a 33-year-old man for slipping $40 out a man’s pocket on Beverly Road on June 9.
The victim said he was near E. 21st Street at 2:40 am when the alleged pick-pocket pinched the two $20 bills out of his pants.
