Police arrested a 27-year-old man stealing a bottle of laundry detergent from a store on Church Avenue and assaulting a woman on May 31.
Police said the man went to the store between Bedford and Flatbush avenues at 11:20 am and took a bottle of Tide detergent without paying for it. As he tried to leave the store, a woman attempted to stop him. The victim told police that the suspect pushed her and repeatedly hit her in the face. According to police, when an officer tried to arrest the suspect, he flailed his arms to prevent being put in handcuffs.
The defendant is being charged with robbery, assault, petit larceny, criminal possession of stolen property, resisting arrest, attempted assault, menacing and harassment.
Grill master
A 39-year-old man was arrested for hitting another man in the head multiple times with a barbecue grilling fork on Coney Island Avenue on May 31.
The victim told police that he was between Foster Avenue and Avenue H at 10:45 pm when the suspect hit him with the grilling fork repeatedly.
The defendant is being charged with assault, menacing, criminal possession of a weapon, attempted assault and harassment.
Phone snatcher
Police arrested a teenager who they say stole the phone of a man on a Q train at the Avenue J station on June 3.
According to police, the victim was sitting on a Manhattan-bound Q train at 10:30 am at the subway stop near E. 16th Street when the suspect snatched the cellphone from the victim’s hands and ran away. The victim ran after the suspect to get his phone back, at which point the suspect punched him in the face.
The defendant is being charged with robbery, grand larceny, assault, petit larceny, criminal possession of stolen property, menacing and harassment.
