It’s a new view for Brighton Beach’s Shore View Nursing Home!

The Brighton Third Street residence for the elderly re-opened in style on May 2 — six months after Hurricane Sandy swamped the facility and forced its evacuation.

Some 200 investors and staff drank vodka and ate caviar, and played blackjack and craps in the rehabilitation and therapy room — which, like the rest of the building, underwent a gut renovation after the super storm.

The storm surge ruined the Shore View’s electrical wiring, boiler, ventilation system, and basement-stored back-up generators.

“The entire building was essentially destroyed internally,” said spokeswoman Miranda Sanders.

But the Shore View took the storm as an opportunity to reimagine its interior — and seal itself off against future storms.

Sanders said the facility moved its generators to an elevated location outdoors, and blocked off potential entry points with concrete and sheet metal.

“The building is going to be protected against another flood,” she said.
