Trailer trashed
A man was arrested for allegedly breaking into a tractor trailer and stealing a variety of items.
The 44-year-old defendant took out the window of the trailer, which was parked at the corner of East 86th Street and Foster Avenue, and stole several items, including a power inverter, bed sheets, mirrors and tools, according to the District Attorney’s office. The alleged theft happened at 12:35 pm on April 21.
The man was charged with criminal mischief, petit larceny and criminal possession of stolen property.
Elder abuse
A man was charged with assault and harassment after he allegedly beat up an old man, causing him to lose consciousness.
The 57-year-old man punched and kicked the 73-year-old until he blacked out, according to the District Attorney’s office. The elderly man suffered bruises to the head and face. The incident happened on East 89th Street between Bayview Place and Glenwood Road.
Pipe fight
A bully attacked an acquaintance, leading to serious charges against him.
The 55-year-old man beat the victim with his fists, throwing him against cars and a wall on Remsen Avenue between Foster Avenue and Bedell Lane at 9:25 am on April 17. The tough guy then hit his acquaintance in the leg with a metal pipe, according to District Attorney’s office. The victim suffered serious pain and injury to his leg.
The man was charged with assault, menacing, criminal possession of a weapon and harassment.
