She’s a screamer
A gunman fled an attempted Nostrand Avenue robbery empty-handed on April 12, after his victim let out such a yell he thought the whole neighborhood would come baring down on him.
The victim told police that she was between Avenues Y and Z at 10:05 am, when the crook crept up behind her and tried to snatch her bag. The 48-year-old victim was able to put up such a fight for her property that the crook resorted the pulling out a silver semi-auto pistol as a scare tactic.
That’s when the victim let out such a blood-curdling scream that the crook felt he had no choice but the flee. The victim suffered no injuries, nor property stolen, cops said.
Container crook
A crook looted a container trailer at a Coney Island Avenue gas station on April 11, taking a power vise and camera.
The victim, a construction worker, told police that he left the container between Avenues T and U well locked at 3:30 pm, and returned early the next morning to find the padlock had been cut, and the trailer looted of the machinery and camera.
A bully’s bully
A big bully robbed a 12-year-old kid of his cellphone on E. 17th Street on April 12, but he was robbed in kind by a good Samaritan who kindly returned the kid’s phone.
The victim told police he was waiting outside his school between Avenues R and S for his mom to pick him up at 2:55 pm when the thug asked to use his cellphone to call a friend. After the crook made his call, the victim asked for his phone back, and the goon uttered a menacing threat.
“I have something in my pocket, I don’t want to hurt you,” the crook allegedly snarled.
The thug started walking away, but the victim was able to flag down a woman driving by in her car, who was able to retrieve the victim’s property.
Glass attack
Cops are looking for a 25-year-old man who they say attacked another man with a glass bottle on Shore Parkway on April 13.
The victim told police that he was near E. 12th Street at 12:30 am when, without provocation, the suspect bashed him over the head with the bottle. The victim was rushed to Coney Island Hospital with minor lacerations, while cops canvassed the area looking for the loon, without any luck.
Evil leverage
Cops are on the hunt for a 41-year-old man who they say made threats about a Stryker Court man’s daughter over the phone on April 12.
The victim told police that he was at his home between W. First and W. Third streets at 7 pm when his phone rang and the creep started uttering threats about the his little girl.
“We are going to get you for what you did,” the caller growled. “We are going to put marks on your daughter.”
Last call
Some thug socked a barfly in the face at an Avenue U watering hole on April 13.
The victim told police that he was at the bar between W. Fifth and W. Sixth streets at 4 am when the owner told him he was closing and it was time to scram. The victim, who’d just ordered a drink, said he was going to drink his beer and then he’d leave.
But he was suddenly slugged in the face by an unknown assailant.
Three-way beat down
Cops are hunting for three crooks who they say beat and robbed a man on E. 21st Street on April 14 — taking the victim’s Samsung Galaxy cellphone and wallet.
The victim told police that he was near Avenue W on his way home at 12:20 am when the thugs grabbed him from behind and threw him to the pavement. As his pals held the victim down, one of the goons pilfered the victim’s pockets, taking his phone and billfold.
Pint-sized
A 14-year-old boy was arrested for ripping a purse from the hands of a 64-year-old woman on Sheepshead Bay Road on April 14.
The victim told police that she was between Avenues Y and X at 1 pm when the suspect pushed her from behind, tugged the purse from her hands, and then fled. Cops picked up the suspect after the victim gave 911 a call, and the lady was able to ID the suspect, according to police.
Fire entrance
A fire escape crook looted a man’s Gerritsen Avenue home on April 14, taking gadgets, clothes, and jewelry.
The victim told police that he left his home between Avenues U and V after securing his front door’s bottom lock at 4:30 pm, but returned later that evening to find both the top and bottom locks were engaged.
After a little sleuthing, the victim discovered that his fire escape window was ajar, so he crept in from the back to discover that his laptop, iPad, earrings, and Northface jacket were gone, according to police.
