A murder suspect escaped from a Prospect Heights station house early this morning, police said.

Cops want the public’s help capturing Brandon Santana, the 24-year-old collared the day before as a suspect in a vicious 2010 Park Slope homicide, after he busted out of the 78th Precinct station house on Sixth Avenue near Bergen Street at about 2 am, police said.

Santana broke free after pushing an officer to the ground, according to an NYPD spokesman. The officer was taken to New York Methodist Hospital in Park Slope where he was admitted with minor injuries.

Cops had arrested Santana on Jan. 23 for allegedly killing 22-year-old Alexander Santiago, who was savagely beaten to death by a group of men minutes after midnight on Aug. 1, 2010, said police.

Santiago was bashed with a metal tire iron on the corner of Eighth Avenue and 12th Street, said cops, and died later at New York Methodist Hospital.

Police released a photo of Santana, the alleged killer, who they describe as a Hispanic male, 5-foot-11 and approximately 200 pounds. He has short black hair and brown eyes.

Santana, who lives on 29th Street between Fourth and Fifth avenues, was last seen wearing a brown hooded jacket, blue jeans, and white sneakers, according to police.

Anyone with information regarding Santana’s whereabouts is urged to call Crimestoppers at (800) 577–8477. All tips are confidential.
