Laray Smith will end his high school career making history — he’ll be the first Xaverian player to ever be named an All-American.

The running back has been selected to play in the Semper Fedelis All-American game, where he’ll be the second Brooklynite picked to play in an All-American game this year. Thomas Jefferson defensive end Ebenzer Ogundeko will be playing in the Under Armour Bowl.

Smith says he was stunned that he was picked for the honor — which comes with a number of top colleges knocking on his door.

“I really wasn’t expecting that,” said Smith, who also runs track and is considered one of the top sprinters in the state.

Between the two sports, Smith has already gotten offers and invites from Ole Miss, Auburn, West Virginia, Tennessee, University of Connecticut, and Syracuse.

Smith says he wants to play football and run track in college, but football is still a priority.

Still, he says he’s far from committing to a school, so those who want to know the football star’s next step will just have to wait.

I really don’t have a time when I’m going to announce yet,” he said. “I just want to wait.”
