Set up
An 18-year-old man was arrested for conning a man out of $150 in cash on E. 51st Street on Oct. 12.
The victim told police that he was near Avenue O at 11 pm, where he was meeting with the suspect in order to buy a jacket. The suspect showed up as promised and handed over his coat, for which the victim offered up $150. Suddenly, two men emerged and took both men’s valuables.
During subsequent interrogations, the suspect admitted that he had arranged for the other men to appear in order to scare the victim into handing over his goods, cops said.
No care
A 30-year-old man was arrested for pilfering a Flatbush Avenue daycare center on Nov. 9 — taking documents and cash.
A witness told police that he was outside of the daycare center between Quentin Road and Avenue R at 7 pm when he noticed the suspect, alongside another man, poking around an accordion folder that was inside of the locked business.
When employees investigated the building the next day, they found that, along with the folder, $1,000 was missing, cops said.
The munchies
A 24-year-old man was arrested for possessing marijuana in plain sight on E. 53rd Street on Nov. 12 — and biting the arresting officer.
The arresting officer said that he was between Avenues H and I at 12:30 pm when he noticed another man give the suspect a bag of pot.
During the arrest, the suspect didn’t help matters when he bit the officer in his arm, cops said.
