Going down

A 20-year-old man was arrested for robbing a man inside the elevator of a W. 27th Street apartment building back on May 6 — taking the victim’s cellphone.

The victim told police that he had entered the elevator of the building near Surf Avenue at 11:45 am when the suspect and another man followed him into the lift. Once the elevator got under way, the suspect pulled out what the victim took for a firearm, and took the victim’s cellphone, cops said.

Barely drunk

Police arrested a 21-year-old man who they say was driving drunk on Neptune Avenue on July 20.

The arresting officer was near Coney Island Avenue at 2:57 am when he noticed the suspect swerving between lanes in his 2007 Chevy Uplander. When the suspect was issued a Breathalyzer test, he had a blood alcohol content of .07 percent, slightly below the legal limit of .08 percent, according to court documents.

Purse pincher

A 34-year-old man was arrested for dipping into a woman’s purse on Brighton First Street on July 19, taking $637.

The victim told police that she was near the Riegelman Boardwalk at 9:50 pm when she looked down to find the suspect’s hand inside her purse. The suspect fled, but not before snagging the victim’s cash, cops said.

Milk carton madness

A 46-year-old man was arrested for beating an employee of a Brighton Seventh Street business — with a milk carton — on July 17.

The owner told police he was inside his business between Ocean View and Brighton Beach avenues at 3:35 pm when the suspect shoved him and then bashed an employee’s head with the milk carton.

When the owner attempted to call 911, the suspect grabbed his phone and fled with it, according to court documents.
