Alec Brook-Krasny vs. Stasmatis Lilikakis
It’s establishment versus upstart in the 46th Assembly District. Four-term Democrat Alec Brook-Krasny is fending off political newcomer Stamatis “Steve” Lilikakis. Brook-Krasny has framed himself as a serious politician playing a game of inches in Albany, and Lilikakis is stoking a vehement base with a rallying cry of lowering taxes.

The campaign
Lilikakis has accused Brook-Krasny of being a party puppet who votes in lock-step with Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver. During their first debate, Lilikakis admitted he has only voted twice in recent years, and that was in presidential elections. At another debate, Brook-Krasny lamented Lilikakis’ primary challenger didn’t win the party nod in September, because he said that Republican would have posed a serious challenge.
