Hack attack
A couple of fare-beaters roughed up and robbed a cab driver on Greene Avenue on Oct. 23, authorities said.
The 35-year-old hack told cops he picked up two men on the corner of Bedford and Atlantic avenues at 2:30 am, and was driving them to Fulton Street and Lafayette Avenue when they asked him to pull over.
The cab stopped on Greene between S. Oxford and Cumberland streets and one of the fares told the driver he had a gun and instructed him to give over his cellphone, according to a police report. Then the guy punched the driver in the back of the neck and poured some type of liquid down his back, the report says.
The other guy reached over the seat and took the driver’s cellphone and both punks took off on Fulton heading towards Vanderbilt Avenue, cops said. The cabby also told police one of the guys dropped his phone in the back seat, and that the car has a security camera.
Group attack
A group of tough guys beat up a man on Monument Walk on Oct. 23 — and then stole his cellphone, cops said.
The 27-year-old victim told police he was between Park and Myrtle avenues at 6:15 pm when a group of seven men approached him. The group attacked him and stole his phone before taking off, cops said.
Emergency personnel took the victim to Brooklyn Hospital Center with scrapes, bruises, and minor bleeding, authorities said.
Stray stroll
A stray bullet struck a man on Hudson Walk on Oct. 22, according to a police report.
The 20-year-old victim told cops he was on his way to see his aunt, and was between Navy and Prince streets at 2:40 pm when he heard two gunshots ring out.
He then felt a pain in his right arm and noticed he had been shot, cops said. An ambulance took the victim to Kings County Hospital for treatment, the police report says.
Subway sneak
A degenerate stole a woman’s cellphone from her backpack while she rode the A train on Oct. 20, according to cops.
The 30-year-old victim told police she boarded the train at 168th Street on the distant island of Manhattan at 6:30 pm with her cellphone in a pocket of her backpack.
She fell asleep before arriving at the Hoyt-Schermerhorn station, at the corner of Hoyt and Schermerhorn streets, and while transferring to a C train she was bumped into by a crowd coming off the train, cops said.
When the victim exited the train at the Clinton-Washington station, on the corner of Fulton Street and Washington Avenue, at 7:30 pm, she noticed her wallet was gone, according to a police report.
Warm criminal
A fashion-minded fiend swiped two sweaters from a Myrtle Avenue boutique on Oct. 24, cops said.
Store employees said the thief came in the store, which is between Clermont and Adelphi streets, at 4:30 pm and grabbed a cardigan and a turtleneck sweater before taking off. Store cameras captured the crook, cops said.
Grand theft
A motor-minded maniac made off with a Honda Accord that its owner parked on Lafayatte Avenue on Oct. 24, police said.
The 31-year-old driver told cops he parked his ride between Saint James Place and Grand Avenue at 6:30 am and came back to get it at 6 pm, but it was gone. There was no broken glass at the scene, cops said.
Teen team nabbed
Cops cuffed two teens who they say stole another teen’s cellphone on the corner of Fulton Street and Ashland Place on Oct. 24.
The 14-year-old victim told police he was near the intersection at 3:40 pm when the two suspects approached him and took his phone.
Officers arrived minutes later and caught the 13- and 14-year-old suspects on Flatbush Avenue Extension between DeKalb Avenue and Fulton Street, according to a police report.
