Expensive taste

A gang of thieves struck a luxury retailer on Atlantic Avenue on Oct. 19 and bagged more than $3,000 in loot, cops said.

Eight shoplifters entered the fancy clothing store between Clinton and Court Streets just before 1:45 pm and looted the place, according to a report. The bandits took several pricey sweatshirts, pairs of jeans, hats, and gloves worth $3,400 altogether, cops said.

The theft was the second in two days at the location, cops said.

The day before, a lone crook lifted a $500 sweater from the same shop at 5:55 pm, according to a report. There is no indication that the incidents are connected, cops said.

Wheel-a-steal

A bicycle thief stole a two-wheeler parked on Second Place sometime overnight on Oct. 15, cops said.

The owner locked up his bike in front of his home between Smith and Court streets at 11 pm, and when he left his house at 7 am on Oct. 16, the bike had vanished, according to a report.

Careful who you trust

An acquaintance of a Columbia Waterfront District woman went on a spending spree using the woman’s credit cards between Oct. 16 and Oct. 20, police said.

The victim reported a shifty character she knows swiped three credit cards and a food-stamp card from her, and managed to rack up $2,079 in purchases, according to a report.

The 27-year-old woman gave cops the name of the 33-year-old suspect, a report states.
