Bashed with bat
A trio of Bensonhurst brutes struck a black man upside the head with a baseball bat on 86th street for no apparent reason on Sept. 7, police reported.
The 48-year-old man was on the street near 24th Avenue in Bath Beach at 4:25 am when three white men — one in his 30s — descended on him, police said.
One took a swing at the victim’s head with a wooden bat, and another stabbed him in the shoulder, reports state. No arrests have been made.
Smokey the bandit
A pistol-toting perp stole $600 and cigarettes from a 16th Avenue deli before locking the proprietor in the basement and making a run for it on Sept. 6.
The trigger man walked into the grocery, which is between 79th and 80th streets in Bensonhurst, like he owned the place at 8:10 pm, hopping behind the counter, whipping out a pistol, and telling the clerk to fill the bag with cash, police reports state.
After the counter worker complied, the man pushed his victim into the basement and barred the door before fleeing toward 80th street, law enforcement sources said.
Knife-point shakedown
A pair of punks with a dagger stole $200 from a guy they held at knife point on the corner of 63rd Street and 20th Avenue in Bensonhurst on Sept. 6.
The man was standing on the street corner at 4:15 am when the blade-wielding duo flashed the poniard and took the guy’s cash, police said.
Robbed top to bottom
Some burglars busted down walls to steal from an 86th Street jewelry store on Sept. 3.
The perps bashed a hole in the roof of a two-story building between Bay 28th and Bay 29th streets in Bath Beach sometime after 4 pm. Once inside, they broke through the floor to get into a first-story jewelry shop, law enforcement sources said.
The break-in artists didn’t take anything from the top floor, but they made off with jewelry from the ground-floor store, reports state.
