Hammer time
Cops cuffed an 85-year-old man for hitting a fellow customer at a Lafayette Avenue restaurant with a hammer on Aug. 29.
The 23-year-old victim told cops she was in the restaurant between Cumberland Street and Carlton Avenue at 10 am when the older fellow went after her with the nail driver.
The guy hit her once in the knee, and threatened her life, according to a police report. Emergency medical personnel took the woman to Brooklyn Hospital Center, as officers found the hammer and arrested the man at the scene, the report says.
Belly dancer burgled
A thief stole a suitcase out of a car parked near the corner of Fort Greene Place and DeKalb Avenue on Aug. 24 — and the bag turned out to contain belly dancing costumes and a sword, authorities said.
The 34-year-old performer told cops she parked her car at the intersection at 12:30 pm, and returned to find the suitcase gone at 4:30 pm. The Eddie Bauer suitcase contained belly dancing costumes, a scimitar sword, silk scarves, and assorted costume jewelry, cops said.
Train trauma
A violent degenerate punched a train conductor in the face as he pulled into the Clinton-Washington A and C train station on Aug. 28, cops said.
The subway operator told cops he was at the rear of a Manhattan-bound C train at 7:15 pm, and when the train came to a stop at the station, which is near the corner of Fulton Street and Washington Avenue, a man who was on the platform came over and punched him in the face.
The driver proceeded to the next station and notified his supervisors, but by then the guy was gone, police said.
Cabby clobbered
Authorities arrested two teens, and are looking for two more, who they said were involved in the robbery of a cab driver on Myrtle Avenue on Aug. 27.
The 22-year-old hack told cops he picked up four young men near the corner of Myrtle Avenue and Washington Park at 10 pm. He drove them to a building on Myrtle between Saint Edwards Street and N. Portland Avenue, and as the guys were getting out, one of them punched the driver in the side of his head through the open driver’s side window, according to a police report.
A second passenger, who was sitting in the front seat, took the driver’s cellphone and they all fled, the report says.
Police arrested two teens for the crime two days later, a 17-year-old at 3:06 pm on Cumberland Walk between Park and Myrtle avenues, and a 15-year-old at 11:30 pm on Claason Avenue between DeKalb and Lafayette avenues, authorities reported.
Shelter slashing
Police arrested a woman for allegedly slashing another woman inside a women’s shelter on Tillary Street on Aug. 26.
The 27-year-old victim told police she was in the common area of the shelter between Prince and Navy streets at 8 am, when the other woman approached her, showed her a box-cutter, and asked if she had any money.
The woman slashed her on the right hand, police said. Cops arrested the 31-year-old suspected cutter two hours later, near the intersection of Flatbush Avenue Extension and Myrtle Avenue, according to a police report.
Near miss
A burglar stole electronics and a wallet from a Greene Avenue apartment on Aug. 27, according to police.
A neighbor of the victim told cops he entered the building between Grand Avenue and Cambridge Place at 2:10 pm, and passed a stranger on the stairs. He saw that someone had broken the lock to his neighbor’s apartment and called to let them know, cops said. The victim told police two laptops, an electronic tablet, and a wallet containing a credit were all missing.
CitiBikes stolen
Cops arrested a teen and a 29-year-old who they said each stole a CitiBike from the dock at the corner of DeKalb and Hudson avenues on Aug 25.
Police saw a 14-year-old riding the bike share two-wheeler on the sidewalk heading down Flatbush Avenue towards Brooklyn College in Flatbush near the corner of Clarendon Road at 7:46 pm, according to a police report. They stopped him and realized the CitiBike had been stolen at 10:03 that morning, it says.
At the same time, they saw the 29-year-old around the corner, riding a CitiBike in the wrong direction in the bike lane on Clarendon Road heading towards Bedford Avenue, cops said. They stopped him and determined that his bike had been illegally taken from the same dock at 2:52 pm, police said. They also found a Xanax on the older guy, cops said.
Motorcycle missing
Someone made off with a 2012 Honda from Willoughby Street on Aug. 24 or 25.
The 32-year-old owner told cops he parked his ride between Ashland Place and Saint Edwards Street at 7 pm on Aug. 24, and when he returned at 1 pm the next day, it was gone.
Key drop
A pair of car-crazy criminals made off with a man’s 2005 Chrysler after starting a fight with him near the corner of Hall Street and Myrtle Avenue on Aug. 30.
The 63-year-old victim told cops a guy started a fist fight with him outside of his car at 3:30 am, and he dropped his keys and ran. Then he saw another guy driving his car away, heading towards Fort Greene Park on Myrtle Avenue.
