Ugly stick
Police arrested a 47-year-old man who they say beat another gentleman with a stick on Brighton Third Street on Oct. 15.
The victim told police that he was between Ocean View and Brighton Beach at 1:40 pm when the suspect turned the stick into a Louisville Slugger and beat the victim senseless.
Ill-begotten meat
A 44-year-old man was arrested for stealing meat from an Avenue Z market on Oct. 9.
A witness told police that she was inside the store between W. Second and W. Third streets at 1:15 pm when she noticed the suspect stuffing various meat products into his jacket. Furthermore, the witness says, she saw the suspect throw his ill-begotten meat into the back of his 1995 Ford F-150.
An employee jumped into the flatbed in an attempt to recover the stolen chow, but the suspect wasn’t having it, leaping from his vehicle and tossing the hapless grocery clerk into the parking lot before speeding off.
