Police arrested a woman after nasty words turned into violent actions on Lafayette Avenue on Aug. 1.
A man and a woman got into an argument at the corner of Clinton Avenue around 5:45 pm, but it escalated when the woman began attacking the man with a wooden mop stick, cops said, hitting him multiple times on the arm and back, causing redness and lacerations.
Cops collared the alleged mop-swinger, a 26-year-old female, while the 41-year-old victim was treated at the scene, according to a police report.
Hot wheels
A bike-loving burglar swiped a man’s ride from a house on Washington Avenue on July 27, cops said.
The victim was out of his house between Myrtle and Park avenues between 11:30 am and 8:40 pm. When he returned hom from work he found the door to his home wide open, a report said.
The thief entered the home without forcing entry, snatching the bike valued at $280 from the building’s lobby, police said.
Laptop swiped
A Bedford-Stuyvesant woman lost her Apple computer to a door-smashing burglar on July 27, cops said.
The woman was out of her home on Myrtle Avenue between Vanderbilt and Clinton avenues from 4 to 8:30 pm, and upon returning found the door forced open, according to a police report.
Cops said she found her $1,500 Apple Powerbook Pro missing.
Window weakness
A cat burglar snuck in the second floor window of an apartment on S. Oxford Street sometime between July 24 and July 28, police said.
The victim, who lives between Dekalb and Lafayette avenues, reported the thief made off with $500 in tools, according to cops.
Truckload of trouble
A punk broke into a parked utilities company truck at the corner of Waverly and and Willoughby avenues sometime overnight on July 28, according to a police report.
The truck’s driver parked the vehicle at 6 pm, and returned at 6 am the next day, only to find a company laptop, a cellphone headset, and a laptop charger — worth a total of $1,170 — missing, cops said.
Broken windows
A mayhem-minded miscreant smashed the window of a car parked on Hall Street sometime overnight on July 28, making off with a navigation system, a couple credit cards, and stethoscope, cops said.
The owner parked the vehicle between Dekalb and Willoughby avenues at 10 pm, and returned at 8:30 am on July 29 to find a total of $380 worth of stuff gone.
Cash grab
A wannabe heistmaster made a quick withdrawal at a Atlantic Avenue cash machine on July 30, cops said.
The wannabe “Oceans 11” mastermind made a hasty smash-and-grab, forcing the machine open and making off with almost $10,000 in cash from a gas station between Grand Avenue and St. James Place around 6:01 am, cops said.
Cash grab: The sequel?
In another cash machine stickup, someone made off with $370 from a machine on Dekalb Avenue on July 30, cops said.
The robber forcibly opened the cash machine between Fort Greene Place and St. Felix Street sometime between 8:50 am and 9:18 pm, when the business housing it received an alert from the cash machine company and notified police, according to a report.
