Not worth the burgers
A group of nine punks toting a shotgun beat and robbed a couple as they were leaving a burger place on Atlantic Avenue on on July 3, cops said.
A 32-year-old man told police he and his friend were out at a bar, and then went to a burger joint near Classon Avenue at 3:20 am. As they were leaving, a group of five women and four men jumped them, hitting them with a shotgun, threatening them, and knocking them to the floor, according to the police report.
After the two were on the ground, members of the group continued to kick and stomp them before robbing them, the report says. The bunch made off with a couple of credit cards, cops said.
Vestige of freedom
Authorities arrested a 35-year-old man for allegedly trying to steal a transit authority vest from a worker on the A train platform of the Clinton-Washington station on July 1, police said.
A train conductor saw a man reach into the 59-year-old worker’s bag after the two had exited the train at the station near Fulton Street at 2:50 am, according to a police report.
The conductor yelled, “get your hand out of her bag,” and the guy pushed the worker before walking away, the report says. Police arrived and arrested the man minutes later, the report added.
Sharp shoe
A blade-happy brute cut a man on his ear on Putnam Avenue on July 3.
The 45-year-old victim told police he got into an argument with the guy near Classon Avenue at 4:15 am, and it came to blows minutes later.
Then the sharp drew something from his shoe and cut the victim on his left ear, before getting in a blue car and taking off, cops said.
Bucket-neer
Police arrested a 34-year-old who they say hit one man with a door and another with a metal bucket on Gates Avenue on June 29.
One of the victims, a 38-year-old, told cops he and the suspected assaulter got into an argument in front of the building between Clinton and Waverly avenues at 10:15 pm.
The suspect closed a door on the victim’s head, and threw a metal trash can at another man standing near by, police said.
Bag grab
A quick-moving crook snatched a woman’s purse on Putnam Avenue on July 3, authorities said.
The 56-year-old told police she was walking near the corner of Downing Street at 3 am when a sneak came up from behind, grabbed her bag, and kept running towards Classon Avenue, police said.
Cough syrup caper
A couple of bike-riding shoplifters stole a bunch of cough syrup from a Myrtle Avenue pharmacy on July 4, according to a police report.
Store employees told authorities the pair came into the store between Navy and Prince streets at 8:30 pm. They grabbed bottles of NyQuil, Advil, and a medicine for infants with gas, the report says.
Store employees valued the medication at $1,128, cops said.
