Cruel criminal
A cold-hearted crook took a woman’s purse after she had a heart attack on the sidewalk near Fort Greene and Hanson places on June 26.
The 60-year-old woman told police she suffered a heart attack at 1:30 pm, dropping her purse and cane on the ground. Someone standing nearby asked if she needed help and called 911, and waited with the woman until an ambulance arrived and took the woman to a hospital, the report says.
The victim told police she believes that the bystander then grabbed her belongings and took off, cops said.
Musical malevolence
A music-loving miscreant snatched a bunch of instruments from a S. Portland Avenue apartment on June 24, according to police.
The 51-year-old resident of the apartment between DeKalb and Lafayette avenues told cops a French horn, trumpet, and violin were taken from her living room sometime after 8 am and before 8:21 pm, according to the police report. During that time she was home and the windows were open, the report says.
Axed
A fiend ripped off a guitar from a rental van parked in a lot on Vanderbilt Avenue sometime between June 20 and 23.
The victim told police he parked the van, which contained his burgundy Gibson SG guitar in a black leather case, at the lot between Fulton Street and Atlantic Avenue on June 20 at 2 pm.
When he returned on June 23 at 7 am, the passenger-side window was smashed and the axe was gone, cops said.
Shelter troubles
There were three incidents at two shelters this week. Here’s how they stack up:
• Police arrested a 25-year-old woman who they say hit a fellow Tillary Street woman’s shelter resident in the head with the box spring from a bed on June 26.
The 41-year-old victim told police the younger woman assaulted her inside the shelter between Prince and Navy streets at 10:09 pm. The attack left her with cuts on her head, police said.
• Two days before that incident, someone at an Auburn Place shelter threw hot coffee on resident, burning her leg, cops said.
The 42-year-old woman at the refuge between Park and Myrtle avenues told police she got into an argument with someone inside the shelter at 3:30 pm, and that person threw coffee on her leg.
• A man and woman were arrested at the same shelter on June 26 after they attacked a police officer, punching him in the head repeatedly, cops said.
Cops cuffed the 18-year-old man and 37-year-old woman at 11:30 pm, right after the assault, according to a police report.
Stolen CitiBike
Cops cuffed a 62-year-old man who they say stole a CitiBike off a Willoughby Street dock on June 24.
The man was riding the bike-share cycle without a helmet near the corner of Fleet Place at 12:01 am when cops stopped to talk to him, according to a police report.
CitiBike informed the officers that the two-wheeler had been missing from the docking station at the same intersection for four days, and that the 62-year-old was not the one who checked it out, the report says. The man also had an open warrant, police said.
Teen-on-teen crime
Police apprehended three teens who they say stole a bicycle from another teen on DeKalb Avenue on June 25.
The 16-year-old victim told cops he was near Ashland Place at 7:10 pm when the three young men approached him, grabbed the bike, and took off.
Officers found the kids, two 15-year-olds and a 14-year-old, outside a building on Carlton Avenue between Fulton Street and Atlantic Avenue a half-hour later, according to the police report. The bike owner identified them and cops arrested them, the report says.
Toweled intruder
Authorities are after a suspect who they say broke into a Clermont Avenue apartment on June 27, wrapped in towels and saying he had a gun, according to police.
The suspect broke into the apartment between Flushing and Park avenues through the back door at 1:30 am, and woke a 43-year-old woman who was sleeping in her bed, cops said. The woman told police the intruder was wrapped in towels and appeared to be carrying a gun.
The guy grabbed her cellphone, wallet, and car keys before taking off, police said. Cops later recovered a hammer and the keys in front of a building on Adelphi Street between Park and Myrtle avenues, according to a police report.
Grab that tablet
A strong-armed assailant snatched an electronic tablet out of a 58-year-old man’s hands onboard a Brooklyn-bound C train on June 26, and then ran out into Clinton-Washington station, cops said.
The victim told police he was on the train at 8:40 am when the sneak grabbed his device as the train pulled into the station. He put up a struggle, but the guy wrenched it from his hands just as the train doors opened, according to a police report.
Then the goon took off running through the station, exiting at the Clinton Avenue and Fulton Street exit, the report says.
Park punk
A sneaky gunman robbed a 33-year-old in an Adelphi Street playground on June 29 — as he was walking home from a bar, cops said.
The victim told police he left a DeKalb Avenue bar at 1:15 am and headed home. As he was walking through the playground between Willoughby and DeKalb avenues, a voice said “Hey, yo,” and he turned around, according to the police report. There was a man with a gun who took the victim’s watch and told him to take out his diamond earring, the report says.
Then the sneak took off running on Clermont Avenue towards Myrtle Avenue. The victim told cops he did not know if the guy was lurking in the park or if he followed him from the bar.
Sleepy sneaker
A light-footed thief stole a wallet and cellphone from inside a parked car on Steuben Street in the middle of the day on June 24, while the owner slept inside.
A 67-year-old man told cops he took a nap in his car, which was parked between Park and Myrtle avenues, at 1:30 pm. And that when he woke up an hour later, his billfold and mobile device were gone.
Hospital haul
Cops cuffed a couple who they say stole two computers and a printer from the Brooklyn Hospital Center on June 13.
Police said the 41-year-old man and 25-year-old woman are seen on security cameras from the hospital on DeKalb Avenue between Ashland Place and Cumberland Street loading the electronics into a baby carriage at 5:31 pm, and then rolled it out of the building.
They were arrested on June 24 at 4:47 pm.
Face the music
A 29-year-old man was arrested for stealing a pair of headphones from a teen on Fulton Street on June 25.
The 18-year-old victim was between S. Elliott Place and S. Portland Avenue at 4:15 pm when the suspect took his headphones, cops said.
The suspect told the kid, “I’ll f--- you up if you don’t leave,” according to a police report. Cops arrived minutes later and cuffed the guy, the report said.
