Lets give an eagle and a birdie to teen prodigy 13 year-old Nortee Panpinyo. The putting master served as a “lifeline” golfer at the Aberdeen Asset Management Putting Challenge on June 16, helping advance two finalists to the third round of competition.
In the event of a miss, Panpinyo could help advance that player to the next round by making the same putt. In round two of the finals, Panpinyo came to the rescue and saved the day for two finalists, with his successful putts advancing them both to the third round.
The Aberdeen Asset Management Putting Challenge benefits CityParks Golf, a free instructional program which reaches 3,500 urban youths annually, and especially golfing greats to be Standing O pal Nortee.
Aberdeen Asset Management is a global company that helps support up-and-coming golfers. It is based in Aberdeen Scotland, which is as far away from Standing O as you can get, and one of the sponsors of City Parks Foundation golfing program CityParks Golf.
Jill Maxwell, Head of Sponsorship for Aberdeen Asset Management, explained to Standing O, “We are delighted to be supporting City Parks Foundation and the charity’s aims of making golf more accessible to youngsters in a fun and accessible atmosphere.”
Standing O wishes Nortee a lifetime of hole-in-ones.
