Three cheers to Vanessa Baylor, a Good Hands agent who received Allstate Insurance Company’s “Hands in the Community” award.

Vanessa is also a good Samaritan, donating her $1,000 prize money to the Scouts of Greater New York.

The recognition was awarded to our pal Vanessa for her commitment to volunteering in the community, especially for the Girl Scouts, said Allstate’s New York field veep.

“Vanessa is an active and respected member of the business community, protecting customers with insurance and financial services products,” said Eva McIntee. “She also makes it a priority to dedicate her time and efforts to make a difference in people’s lives.”

The honoree also exemplified the full spectrum of what it means to be an Allstate agent,” added McIntee.

“She has truly become a name and face in her community,” she said.

Standing O gives Vanessa a hand and says, “Thank you, and keep up the good work.”

Goal!

It’s a win-win for all. Casa Pepe is collecting donations of used and new soccer equipment as part of the Soccer Recycle program sponsored by Recycle-Downtown United Soccer Club. All equipment goes to deserving underprivileged children who have a passion to kick, score, and punt. Donators will receive a 10-percent discount off a meal at Case Pepe, which is a bargain for sure.

Standing O says, “When you go to Casa Pepe have the flan — it is mighty delicious — and help out a kid.”

It makes good sense

Huzza to the students at St. Ephrem School. Caring kids from its nursery program all the way up to the eighth grade saved their pennies and donated the copper Lincolns to the school-wide project, “Cents of Love,” as part of their Lenten sacrifices. The students raised more than $875 for the Food Pantry Program.
