Summer’s here and the time is right for dancing in the streets — of Bay Ridge!

The official start of the season might not be until June 21, but Friday is the final day of May and the neighborhood’s annual inauguration of summer — the Fifth Avenue Festival!

So start off Friday night warm and soothing, with a set of Carpenters covers by singer Ami Jane at Vaccaro’s Restaurant [6716 Fort Hamilton Pkwy. between 67th and 68th streets] in Dyker Heights at 7 pm. At 9 pm, you can hit the Schnitzel Haus [7319 Fifth Ave. between 73rd and 74th streets] to hear Big Things Kicks. The band comes all the way from Pennsylvania’s Poconos to play you the best tunes from the ’80s and ’90s. Then you can head up to Circles Grill [9023 Third Ave. between 90th and 91st streets] to hear a set of classic acoustic covers courtesy of Tony Monier, Mike DoCampo, and Christ Segalini at 9:30 pm.

Catch Monier and DoCampo again Saturday at 4 pm, this time electrified, with their band the Ridge at Red White & Brew [8910 Fifth Ave. between 89th and 90th streets]. The group will be playing rock tunes from the ’60s and ’70s.

At 10 pm, On a Good Run will take the stage at the Greenhouse [7717 Third Ave. between 77th and 78th streets], playing blues and old school rock. In the mood for something heavier? Then hit No Quarter [8015 Fifth Ave. between 80th and 81st streets] at 10 pm to catch the Social Zoo, blasting the hardest tunes in the rock alphabet — from Alice and Chains to Zeppelin. At 11 pm you can head to the Wicked Monk [9510 Third Ave. between 95th and 96th streets] to hear Head Over Heels’ eclectic upbeat set that includes both Southern rock and today’s hits.

And be sure to hit Fifth Avenue between 69th and 85th streets at noon on Sunday for great food, great people, and more great music by great local artists!
