Bay Ridge community leaders are offering $10,000 for any information that will lead police to Mohamed Gebeli’s murderer.

Gebeli, 65, the owner of Valentino Fashion on Fifth Avenue, was found on the floor of his shop with a gunshot wound to the neck at 11 pm on July 6 after a friend noticed that the lights to the shop near 77th Street were still on.

Responding rescuers transported Gebeli to Lutheran Medical Center, where he died.

Investigators believe that Gebeli was killed during a stick-up gone wrong.

State Sen. Marty Golden’s office immediately allocated $5,000 for information that would help the investigation. Those funds were matched by Gebeli’s friend and owner of Pharmacy on Fifth, Habib Joudeh, who is also the vice president of the Arab-American Association of New York.

“Mr. Gebeli was killed in an incident that has destroyed a family and has shocked a community,” said Golden (R–Bay Ridge). “Anyone who may know something to help to solve this case should contact the authorities.”

Anyone with information regarding Gebeli’s murder is urged to contact CrimeStoppers at (800) 577–8477. All calls will be kept confidential.
