Sweeping up

Cops cuffed a man who they say broke another man’s car window with a broom and then used the broken pieces of the handle to attack the victim on Bedford Avenue on May 6.

The 29-year-old victim told police that he was arguing with the suspect at the corner of N. 10th Street at 12:30 pm when the accused smashed the glass on the driver’s side with a broom, then sliced him in the arm with the jagged wood.

The 38-year-old suspect was arrested and charged with assault.

One night slammed

A bar patron accepted an invitation to go home with a guy he met at a Bedford Avenue bar on May 5, then bashed his new friend over the head and stole his computer, officers reported.

The 52-year-old victim said he was at the watering hole between N. Seventh and N. Eighth streets at 3 am when he met the plotter and struck up a conversation. At 4 am, the pair left the saloon and went around the corner to buy some beer before heading back to the victim’s apartment and having more drinks, cops said.

At 8:30 am, the ornery guest grabbed a beer bottle and bashed the victim in the skull with it, the victim told cops. Before the victim could move, the intruder grabbed his Mac laptop computer, speakers, and computer mouse and vamoosed, according to the authorities. The victim called emergency services and they took him to hospital for treatment, a report says.

Gassed

A couple of chiselers impersonated a gas company employee to get into a Bayard Street apartment building on May 8 and steal cash from a tenant, police said.

The victim reported treacherous twosome arrived at his house between Graham Avenue and McGuinness Boulevard at 5:30 pm, told him that they were from Con Edison, and asked to go into the basement.

At some point, one of the schemers snuck into his residence and stole $250 out of his apartment, per cops. The victim described the robbers to police but the men have not yet been arrested.

Flirty thief

A man was arrested for stealing a woman’s phone after chatting her up at a Manhattan Avenue nightclub on May 7, according to a police report.

The victim said she was at the lounge between Kent and Java streets at 10 pm when the suspect sat down next to her and started spitting game. After 20 minutes of smooth talk, the accused bumped into her, took her phone, and then left the bar, the victim reported.

She use a phone finder application to track her phone down to a telecommunications store on the corner of Grand Avenue and Moore Street, according to cops. Police say they found the suspect inside, arrested him, and charged him with grand larceny.
