They were without a car in the world.
Cyclists rode atop normally auto-only thoroughfares such the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway and the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge as part of the Five Boro Bike Tour on Sunday.
More than 30,000 bike-riders traversed all or part of the 40-mile loop, which began in Manhattan and, after excursions into the Bronx and Queens, traveled the length of Brooklyn, from the Pulaski Bridge in Greenpoint to the iconic span connecting Bay Ridge to bucolic Staten Island.
