Good Samaritan pays
Cops cuffed a 30-year-old woman after she tried to steal a personal audio player from a guy who was about to give her money on Gold Street on March 20, authorities said.
Police said the woman stopped a 23-year-old at the corner of Sands Street at 3:20 am, and asked him for money. As he looked in his pocket for cash to give her, the woman reached into his pocket and took his music player, according to the report.
Cops showed up and arrested her, finding the device and a crack pipe on the woman, police said.
Holding the doors
A 47-year-old man was arrested for fighting with a police officer who asked him not to hold the train doors at the Borough Hall station on March 17.
The officer was on the 2 and 3 train platform responding to a call about a suspicious package at 4 pm when the train conductor of a Manhattan-bound 2 train called for assistance, according to the police report. The conductor told the cop that a man was holding the doors, and when he asked him to stop the man refused, the report said.
“I will f--- you up officer, if you try and take me off,” the guy said.
The officer reported that as he approached, the guy kicked him in the wrist, and then resisted arrest when he tried to take him into custody, punching him in the eye during the scuffle, according to the police. Cops said the officer was treated at Methodist Hospital.
Not worth a nap
Police arrested a man who they said tried to fight them at the Dekalb Avenue subway station when he was asked to leave a train on March 22. The man later put his head through the back window of a patrol car, according to cops.
Police said they found the 33-year-old stretched across the seats of a Coney Island-bound D train at 3:02 am, while the train was stopped at the station on the corner of Dekalb Avenue and Flatbush Avenue Extension. Officers said they approached and asked the man to exit the train. He refused, grabbed onto the train pole, and fought off the officers who tried to remove him from the train, according to the report.
He was eventually arrested, and while police transported him to the station house the man put his head through the rear window of the police car, cops said. During a search at the station, police found a switchblade in his pants near the waist.
Gun grab
Police arrested two teens for robbery and resisting arrest after one of them tried to grab an officer’s gun during a struggle on March 23 inside the Farragut housing complex.
Cops said they were investigating a robbery in a building on York Street between Navy and Gold streets at 2:15 pm when they saw two young men who resembled the suspects they were looking for. When the officers approached, the teens tried to run, according to the report.
The officers said that when they caught the pair, the 18-year-old tried to grab an officer’s weapon during a struggle to get away, while the 15-year-old refused to be handcuffed and struck the officers.
Order in the court
Police arrested a 23-year-old woman after a courtroom outburst on March 18, inside the civil court building on Livingston Street.
Cops said the woman caused a disturbance in the courtroom between Smith Street and Boerum Place at 12:53 pm, screaming profanities loudly. When officers responded she resisted arrest, flailing her arms and punching at the officers, according to the report.
Crowded train pick pocket
A 34-year-old told police someone snagged his wallet while he rode a crowded F train on March 15 — leaving him out $400.
The victim said he boarded the train at W. Fourth Street at 2:55 pm, and just before the Jay Street-MetroTech station he felt a strong nudge to his jacket pocket. He told police that the shove made him feel uncomfortable, but that he could not turn around to see who did it because the train was too crowded.
He exited the subway at Smith-Ninth Street at 3:23 pm, and received a notification on his phone saying that his bank card was being used near Jay Street, according to the police report. That is when the victim noticed his wallet missing, which contained $400 cash, debit, and credit cards, cops said.
Bag snag
Someone snagged a pricey Louis Vuitton bag from a parked but unlocked car on Montague Street on March 17.
The 58-year-old victim said he parked his 2011 Lincoln between Clinton and Henry streets at 7:20 pm and ran into a nearby pharmacy, leaving the car unlocked. When he returned 20 minutes later, the designer bag was gone, he said. Police reported that the bag is worth $3,200.
Car stolen
Someone stole a a man’s car after arguing with him on Water Street on March 17, police said.
A 22-year-old told cops he was sitting in his 1997 Toyota Camry between Pearl and Jay streets at 3:20 am when someone came over and asked him, “What are you doing over here?”
The victim replied that he was working, and then the guy asked him to step out of the vehicle, according to the police report. He got out of the car, leaving the engine running and the two men got into a “slight tussle,” cops said. The victim said he went around the corner for help, and when he returned the car was gone.
Break-in
A 24-year-old woman said a burglar broke into her State Street apartment on March 18 while she was out for the day.
She told police she left her house between Willow Place and Hicks Street at 8:45 am, and did not return until 6 pm. When she got home she noticed the door tampered with and items missing, police said.
The woman said the thief made off with a laptop, a tablet, sunglasses, and a sapphire ring.
Stick up
A 23-year-old woman told police a teen robbed her at gunpoint on March 19, in broad daylight on Sands Street.
She told cops she was walking in the Farragut Houses complex, between Navy and Gold streets, at 12:15 pm when a teen came up from behind and stopped in front of her. She said the kid showed her a silver handgun and said, “Give me everything.”
The woman gave over her cellphone and head phones, but the punk wanted more, according to the report. Police said he told her to give him money or he would shoot her. Then he fled, cops said.
Night at the movies
A 22-year-old woman told police someone broke into her car, parked on Livingston Street, and stole her purse while she was at the movies on March 20.
She said she parked her 2000 Hyundai Accent at the corner of Clinton Street at 11:05 pm, and went to the movies. When she came out at 2:10 am her rear driver-side window was smashed, and her purse was gone, police said.
The victim told cops the bag contained a digital reader, a pair of Armani Exchange sunglasses, debit and credit cards.
Bad bus ride
Someone stole a 60-year-old lady’s wallet right off her lap while she rode a B-41 bus on March 20, police said.
The woman told authorities she boarded the bus at 5 pm, leaving her purse open after paying the fare and placing it on her lap. She rode the bus for an hour before exiting at the corner of Nevins and Livingston streets and noticing that her wallet was gone, according to the report.
