Gun happy

A pair of robbers held a man up at gunpoint on Jackson Street on March 24, stealing his iPhone.

The victim told police that he was near Manhattan Avenue on his way home at 9:15 pm when a man in his 20s walked up from behind him and grabbed his phone. The victim tried to fight back and struggled to get his phone until another man came from across the street pointing a gun at him.

At that point the victim gave up the phone and ran away. One of the robbers chased him a bit but then stopped.

Bad tip

A thief walked into a Bedford Avenue restaurant on March 28 and stole $20 in cash of the tip jar.

The manager of the eatery between N. Sixth and N. Seventh streets told police that the thief came in at 9:30 pm, grabbed $20 out of the tip jar, and ran out the door.

The manager chased the thief and caught up to him at Metropolitan and Union avenues, where the thief showed him a knife. The manager then stopped chasing him and went back to the restaurant.

Sneaky thief

A stealth robber made his way into a N. Seventh Street home on March 28 and stole a purse off of a kitchen table while the victim was sleepign and her boyfriend was watching TV.

The victim’s boyfriend told police that he was watching television in the living room of the home between Kent and White avenues at 11 pm when he heard a noise in the kitchen.

He went into investigate and found his girlfriend’s bag — which included her hat, credit card, and books — missing. His girlfriend was asleep in the bedroom when the theft happened.

Cash grab

Someone stole $23,000 in cash out of a N. Sixth Street automated teller machine on March 23.

The manager of a business center between Berry and Wythe avenues told police that he went into work at 1 pm and found the cash dispenser damaged and all the money gone.

Look the other way

A pair of thieves stole a laptop out of Franklin Street store when the clerk was distracted on March 29.

The victim told police she was working at the store between Milton Street and Greenpoint Avenue at 9:55 am when two men came into the store.

While the clerk was helping someone else, the men grabbed the laptop off of the counter, put it in a duffel bag, and ran out.

Revenge

A jilted man stole a phone from a woman when she refused to go home with him on Metropolitan Avenue on March 26.

The victim told police that she went on a date with the guy, and at the end of the night, she got into an argument with him because she did not want to go home with them.

While they were standing between Union Avenue at 1:15 am, the man grabbed her phone out of her hand and ran into the subway, she told police.
