Hammer home invasion
Cops said two men beat a Whitman Houses resident with a hammer in his home on March 1, making off with $200 in cash, a cellphone, and a wallet.
The 50-year-old victim told police he was in his apartment on N. Portland Avenue between Park Avenue and Auburn Place, when he heard a knock on his door at 7:05 pm. He answered and saw a man he knows by the name “Quick” with another man, police said.
The two toughs started punching the victim and hitting him with a hammer, while yelling, “Where is my money,” according to the report. Then the goons grabbed the goods and fled, police said.
Push punch grab
Police said a thug pushed a 48-year-old woman to the ground, punched her in the face, and stole her phone on Clermont Avenue on March 1.
The victim was walking between Park and Myrtle avenues at 10 pm, when someone came up and pushed her down, before ripping the phone from her hand, cops said. Then the tough punched her in the face and took off in a car, according to the police report.
Third goon grabbed
Cops arrested a third teenager for a Feb. 22 slashing assault at a restaurant on Flatbush Avenue Extension.
The two victims told cops they were attacked by a large group of teens while in the restaurant between Dekalb Avenue and Fulton Streets at 5:59 pm. Both were slashed with a box-cutter and required stitches, according to police.
One was cut on the neck and taken to Kings County Hospital, the other was sliced on his hand as he tried to protect his face and was taken to Brooklyn Hospital Center, police said.
Cops arrested a 15-year-old and 16-year-old later that day, and nabbed the third guy, a 17-year-old, on Feb. 26, reports said.
Sibling assault
A brother tried to stab his sister in a Whitman Houses apartment on Feb. 25, according to police.
The 34-year-old victim told police she was in her apartment on N. Oxford Walk between Park and Myrtle avenues at 10:15 pm when she questioned her brother about a plastic bag she found in his bedroom, and he got angry.
The brother told her to leave and began punching her in the face, causing swelling and a cut on her lip, police said. He then told her, “I’m going to kill you. You are going to die,” before getting a knife from the kitchen and trying to stab her, according to cops.
The brother fled before police arrived, the report said.
Taken tools
A burglar broke into a van near the corner of Atlantic and Clermont avenues sometime between Feb. 23 and 25, stealing a navigation system and tools, cops said.
The van’s owner told police he parked at the intersection on Feb. 23 at 12:30 pm, and when he returned two days later at 1:50 am, the passenger-side lock was missing, along with his belongings.
Bike burglar
Police arrested a 41-year-old man for stealing a woman’s bicycle from her house on S. Portland Avenue on Feb. 26.
The 48-year-old victim told cops she saw the burglar enter her house near Fulton Street at 2:20 pm and take the Jamis bicycle. Police came and arrested the bicycle thief, according to the report.
Card fraud
A scammer defrauded a Saint James Place woman’s bank account of $1,198 between Dec. 26 and Feb. 12.
The 71-year-old victim, who lives between Lafayette and Dekalb avenues, said she sill had her card and that no one else has permission to use her account, the police report said.
Car break-in
A burglar smashed the passenger-side window of a car parked on Waverly Avenue sometime between Feb. 22 and 24 — and took a laptop and shoes, police said.
The 38-year-old victim told cops she parked between Dekalb and Willoughby avenues at 10 pm, and when she returned on Feb. 24 at 8 pm, the deed had been done.
Quick thief
A speedy crook broke into a car parked on Hanson Place on Feb. 25, smashing the passenger-side window and taking a purse.
The 31-year-old victim parked between Fort Greene Place and S. Elliott Place at 4:30 pm, and when she returned 25 minutes later, the window was broken and the purse removed, cops said.
The bag contained a Coach wallet, a tablet, makeup, and a debit card, according to the police report.
Another break-in again
A robber hit a car on Willoughby Avenue on Feb. 26, taking a backpack.
The owner, a 40-year-old woman, said she parked the car near the corner of Emerson Place at 8 am and when she returned at 3 pm, the rear passenger-side window was broken and her backpack removed, according to cops. The bag contained a tablet, a laptop, and school books, the report said.
Bar bag grab
A bandit swiped woman’s purse from a chair inside a Myrtle Avenue bar on Feb. 25.
She was in the bar, between Clinton and Vanderbilt avenues, at 7:30 pm and left her bag behind when she went to the bathroom, police said. The Madewell tote-bag was gone when she got back, along with the Marc Jacobs wallet that was inside, according to the police report.
Phone smash
Police arrested a 49-year-old woman for smashing someone’s phone inside the women’s shelter on Tillary Street on March 1.
The 26-year victim told police she was in the shelter between Prince and Navy streets when the suspect grabbed the device from her pocket and threw it on the floor.
Quick getaway
A punk grabbed a woman’s cellphone right out of her hand while she walked on Lafayette Street on March 2.
She said she was walking between S. Elliott Place and S. Portland Avenue at 6:40 pm when someone came up from behind, grabbed her phone, and ran, according to the report. She told police the punk turned left onto S. Portland, heading towards Dekalb Avenue.
Grand theft caravan
Police said someone swiped a 1993 Dodge Caravan from Vanderbilt Avenue sometime overnight on Feb. 23.
The 70 year-old owner said he parked it between Myrtle and Park Avenues at 6 pm, and when he returned at 8 am the next day, the van was gone, according to the police report.
