The “NYC Brewer’s Choice” night may be the biggest New York City Beer Week event happening in Brooklyn, but it is not the only one. Here are three other ways to get involved in the festival without leaving the borough.
Brews and chews
Brooklyn Brewery’s chef Andrew Gerson teams up with Ethiopian chef Hiyaw Gebreyohannes, and chefs Francisco “Paco” Robert and Brandon Byrd of pop-up dinner series Dinner Lab, for a multi-course feast — each paired with beer, of course. Afterwards, all guests will get free entry into the National Championships of DJ Jonathan Toubin’s famous “Soul Clap & Dance Off” next door at Brooklyn Bowl.

Ladies night
Calling all female brewers, bartenders, mixologists, and booze writers! Brooklyn Tap House is hosting an “Industry Ladies Happy Hour” on Feb. 25. From 4–7 pm, craft beers such as KelSo Cabernet Aged IPA and Sixpoint Hi-Res will be available for $3, while beer-loving ladies mingle at the bar.

Blast from the past
The brewmasters from Peekskill, Captain Lawrence, and Shmaltz breweries get together to celebrate some of their beers from days past. Beer geeks will be able to sample vintage gems such as Ithaca Brute 2011, Shmaltz’s very first batch of Funky Jewbelation, and 2010’s Geektoberfest — a collaboration between all three companies.
