Fans off to the students at David A. Boody Junior High School for cheering up the seniors at the Lodge Senior Center on 18th Avenue in Bensonhurst.
Gifted dancers Sydney Chan, Quan Qi Ji, Ke Qing Jiang, Hui Qing Lian, Jian Yin Lin, Hui Lin Liu, Janet Liu, Dan Lin Ou, Jia Ying Wang, Qi Ting Wu, Cindy Yang, and Li Hong Zeng performed traditional fan dances — under the direction of teacher Shuya Zhang — to celebrate the Chinese lunar Year of the Horse, much to the delight of the residents, who requested an encore visit.
“The seniors loved the show so much they asked the troupe to come back,” said Linda Dalton, president of the Parent-Teacher Association.
These students are not only talented, but they excel at their studies.
“Our Chinese Dance troupe exemplifies all that we stand for at David A. Boody — excellence, achievement, and empowerment,” said Principal Dominick D’Angelo. “The beauty and grace that our troupe exhibits when they perform indicates how innovative and dedicated they are.”
