Cops say they need your help to track down a bank robber and car thief who held up a Sunset Park Capital One last October and ditched his stolen getaway vehicle in Bay Ridge.
Authorities say the crook — dressed in a white baseball cap, sunglasses, and dark coat — entered the lending institution at the corner of 50th Street and Fifth Avenue at 9:20 am on Oct. 4. He passed the teller a note stating he had a gun after waiting on line. The bank clerk surrendered $2,900 in cash and the robber ran out.
A police source said the stick-up artist stole a car outside the Capital One and used it to escape. The insider said cops later recovered the vehicle at an undisclosed location in Bay Ridge.
No one was injured in the incident.
