Talk about getting too close for comfort!
A city bus crashed into a Downtown bus shelter as it angled in to pickup a fare on Monday afternoon, causing an explosion of glass that landed one person to the hospital.
Witnesses said the B45 bus had veered towards the Livingston Street shelter near Court Street at 2:17 pm when it’s side-view mirror hit the side of the glass shelter, according to an MTA spokesman.
Police closed off the street and a section of the sidewalk, as the empty bus sat precariously close to the damaged shelter, surrounded by shattered glass.
At least two people were cut by flying glass, officials said. One of the victims was seriously injured and taken to Brooklyn Hospital for treatment, an FDNY spokesman said.
