Burned — and nearly beheaded.
That is how a Kensington woman found her 57-year-old husband — dead, with burns on his face and gashes cut so deep into his throat that his head clung to his body just by a few thread of flesh, inside his McDonald Avenue office on Tuesday, according to a New York Post report.
After Mahuddin Mahumd failed to return home from work at his jewelry and electronics store, his worried wife and brother went out in search of him.
They discovered his grisly remains in the basement office of the business between Church Avenue and Avenue C at 12:15 am, according to the Post.
“He’s my father right. I don’t know why this happened or why someone would do something like this. Someone killed him,” Humayun Rahman, told the post.
Police have not named any suspects or persons of interest for the murder, and their investigation remains ongoing, according to a spokesman for the NYPD.
The Post, however, cited an unnamed police source in reporting that the tenant of a McDonald Avenue apartment Mahumd owned — and who has not been seen since the crime occurred — is being considered a person of interest.
