A woman had to be pried out of her Jeep by firefighters on Sunday, after her vehicle flipped onto its side following a nasty crash in Mill Basin. Paramedics and firemen rushed to the scene of the accident on Utica Avenue near Avenue J at 6 pm, where they found the victim trapped inside her car, suffering from serious injuries.
The firefighters pried the woman from her busted Jeep with a Hurst Tool — better known as the Jaws of Life — and she was freed after about fifteen minutes’ effort, according to an FDNY spokesman.
Two other vehicles were involved in the accident, although the other drivers refused medical attention.
The driver of the Jeep was sent to Beth Israel Hospital for treatment, according to an FDNY spokesman.
