Mail’s late
A man was arrested for allegedly attacking a postman on Allen Avenue on Nov. 13.
The victim told police that he was going about his duty as a US Postal Worker between Plumb First and Plumb Second streets at 8:05 am when the suspect slapped him on the face, took his sunglasses, and broke them in half.
The victim also complained that the suspect’s actions prevented him from performing his postal obligations, meaning somebody’s mail was late.
Belting the blind
Cops are hunting a geriatric goon for allegedly throwing a dog bone at a blind man on E. 13th Street on Nov. 12.
The victim told police that he was between Kings Highway and Avenue R at 7:50 pm when the suspect, 60, threw an object that struck him under his eye.
The victim is partially blind, and so he could not identify the items that were ignominiously hurled at his face, according to police. However, following an investigation, police believe that the blind man was struck by “a piece of raw hide and a small glass vile wrapped in yellow paper.”
Power tool crook
Someone raided the basement of a man’s Ocean Avenue apartment on Nov. 10 — taking more than $1,500 worth of power tools.
The victim told police that he left his apartment between Quentin Road and Avenue R at 3 pm, and returned about three hours later to find that the lock on his basement storage room was busted, and his power tools gone.
The crook grabbed a Ryoby leaf blower, a Milwaukee Saw, and an electric snake.
Unengaged
A thief looted a man’s home on E. 26th Street on Nov. 8, taking a $2,100 engagement ring, among other valuables.
The victim told police that he left his home between Avenue Z and Voorhies Avenue at 11:30 am, returning five hours later to find his engagement ring, along with $1,000 worth of other jewelry, was taken. There were no signs of forced entry, cops said.
Comic-book villain
A bandit plundered a man’s Noel Avenue home on Nov. 3 — taking a chipping gun and $1,000 worth of comic books.
The victim told police the left his home near Lois Avenue at 3 pm and returned an hour later to discover someone had removed a window screen off the side of his garage and looted his valuables within.
Taking candy from a baby
Cops are hunting a man for allegedly robbing and beating a 14-year-old boy on Avenue U on Nov. 11.
The victim told police that he was near E. 17th Street at 10:30 pm when the suspect crept up from behind him and grabbed the iPhone from his hand. The kid gave chase, but he only earned himself two knuckle sandwiches after he caught up to the crook.
