The following comments were puled from my ever fattening mailbag:
Dear Stan,
We are always hearing about how Social Security is going to run out of money. However, we never hear about Welfare running out of money.
What is interesting is the first group “worked for” their money …second group did not!
Joan Applepie”
Hiya Joan,
It’s more than just welfare people that are on the receiving end. The liberal administration, with its ever increasing entitlements, is buying future votes at taxpayers’ expense.

Dear Mr. Gershbein,
I know you love Fox News as you said a few weeks ago. I watch it also, but I don’t love it. In fact I am upset at the Fox show, “The Five.” I am disturbed knowing that there are four conservatives ganging up on one liberal. I don’t recall ever seeing a show where four of one political persuasion battle against one person on the opposite side.
R.J.
Dear R.J.,
You obviously never take a day off from work. Good for both you and your employer. If you did you would know that there is a show called “The View” which is also broadcast with a theme of four against one. There were four liberals against one conservative who did such a great job scrapping against her four adversaries that she was recently pirated away for big bucks. After 10 years on The View, Elisabeth Hasselbeck jumped ship and now works for Fox.

Dear Stan,
Thanksgiving is coming soon. Let me give you something you may want to write about. Forget about how the Indians got the short end of the deal when they sold Manhattan to the Dutch for $24. What really happened was that the tribe the deal was made with did not live on Manhattan and had no business being there. They just came there to hunt and fish when the Dutch showed up to buy the island.
Best regards,
David Raisman
Dear David,
Many years ago, Mr. Barry Lasky, one of the best and devoted teachers in Canarsie High and members of the staff, did some extensive research on the subject. Their conclusion was that the members of the Indian tribe who sold Manhattan to the Dutch were the Canarsie Indians.

Dear Mr. G,
Who ever told you that you can write? You’re not a writer. I can’t believe that you get paid for your malarkey.
Signed, unsigned.
Dear Sir, You are correct. I’m not a writer but, don’t tell anyone. I’ve been fooling them for a long time. In fact, it’ll be2 5 years next month. Please don’t tell anybody. And I also can’t believe I get paid, but those checks keep coming, and I will continue to sit at this desk.
I am StanGershbein@Bellsouth.net wishing everyone, including you, a very Happy Hanukkah and Wonderful Thanksgiving. Enjoy your Turkey with a side of Latkes.
