Welcome and bienvenue
The community and officers at the 62nd Police Precinct welcomed a new commanding officer, Capt. Bill Taylor, at the monthly meeting of Community Board 10 last month.
The newly minted top cop officially took the reins from Deputy Inspector James Rooney, who had served since 2010 and is now heading the 60th Precinct in Coney Island.
And Taylor says he couldn’t be happier.
“I was hoping for the six-two,” Taylor said in cop speak for the 62nd. “I’m excited. I’ve got a really great team. There’s a lot of good stuff going on. It’s going to be great.”
Standing O says, “Welcome aboard and thanks for keeping the streets safe for all.”
