Caps off to the Class of 2013 at the State of New York Downstate’s Infant and Child Learning Center, which celebrated the graduation of more than 55 students with special needs last month.
The program helps youngsters — from infants to 5 years old — overcome developmental delay, offering on-site and in-home day care, and relying on professional and parent involvement to achieve the best outcome for each child.
“The staff is very friendly and works as a team,” said Pauline Foster, whose child graduated from the preschool program. “They welcome you with open arms.”
The ceremonies, hosted by co-executive directors Kathy McCormick and Joan Hittelman included a youth performance and a diploma presentation.
Many of the preschool grads will enter mainstream kindergarten classes in the fall.
