A Canarsie man’s early morning stroll took a turn for the macabre when he discovered a young man lying dead on E. 99th Street with gunshot wounds to the head Tuesday morning.
The witness was between avenues L and M at 7:55 am, when he saw the body of a man was lying on his side, bleeding from his head.
A block resident who didn’t want to give his name said that he heard shots fired at sometime between 1 am and 2 am.
The victim had an iPhone in his hand when police found him lying in the street, suggesting that the killing was not part of a robbery.
Police have yet to identify the body, and investigators from the 69th Precinct and the NYPD’s Homicide Detectives Squad have no suspects yet, according to a police spokesman.
