Don’t be alarmed — it’s only a drill.
The fire department and the U.S. Marine Corps will be conducting a disaster drill at the Barclays Center tonight.
The emergency procedure will be conducted at the 18,000-seat arena near the busy intersection of Flatbush and Atlantic avenues from 8 pm until 2 am on Saturday.
Residents can expect to see military vehicles, emergency personnel in full hazardous material suits, and actors made up to look like disaster victims near Dean Street between Flatbush and Sixth avenues.
We are working to establish the role of the Marines is in this operation.
