Fighting dirty
Cops arrested a 31-year-old man who they say struck someone with a wooden mop handle on 64th Street on Sept. 1, police said.
The victim was near near 23rd Avenue at 10 pm when the suspect struck him multiple times on his face, head, torso and back, causing the handle to break into several pieces, according to cops. Even after the handle broke, the perp continued attacking his victim with the mop handle pieces, police said.
Cellphone crook
A 28-year-old man was arrested for snatching a cellphone from a woman’s hand on the D train at the 79th Street subway station on Sept. 1, police said.
The train was pulling into the station near New Utrecht Avenue at 3:47 pm when the perp grabbed the phone and fled from the train, cops claimed.
Shopping spree
Police busted a 36-year-old woman who they say stole more than $1,200 worth of jewelry, make-up, clothing, and bath accessories from a store on Bay Parkway on Aug. 30.
A worker at the retailer near Bensonhurst Park told noticed the woman using a box-cutter to get rid of the security tags on the merchandise in the store at 6 pm, police said.
