Gun-point goon
A 29-year-old man was arrested for robbing a woman at gunpoint on E. 51st Street on Aug. 18 — taking cash, jewelry, a cellphone, and even some clothes.
The victim told police that she was between Avenues L and M at 4:30 am when the suspect and another man emerged from a black sedan, and one of the men leveled a pistol at her. The suspect and his accomplice then stripped the victim of her valuables, including some clothes, before fleeing, cops said.
Bad credit
Cops busted a 26-year-old man who they say used a woman’s credit card to buy himself an iPad inside an Avenue U retailer on Aug. 13.
An employee working in the store’s loss prevention department told police he was inside the retailer between E. 54th and E. 55th streets at 4:48 pm when he spotted the suspect buying the Apple device with the card.
Upon further inspection, however, the worker concluded that the card couldn’t possibly belong to the suspect, and alerted police to man’s suspicious spending.
