A brazen thief hijacked an armored car in Canarsie on Thursday, making off with half a million dollars, according to police.
The driver told cops he was outside a Seaview Avenue Pay-O-Matic store near Rockaway Parkway at 10:30 am when the crook managed to put what the driver believes was the muzzle of a gun to the back of his head, and boarded the mobile money vault.
The thief, who was dressed in black and hiding his face behind a mask, then forced the driver to chauffeur him to Linden Boulevard, where the crook made off with a duffle bag bulging with $500,000.
Thankfully, no one was injured during the heist.
