When gangs attack
Cops arrested a 22-year-old man for allegedly taking part in the gang robbery of a man on Coney Island Avenue on Aug. 15, taking $400 and the victim’s phone.
The victim told police that he was meeting with the suspect between Avenue P and Quentin Road at 12:30 am, although he didn’t mention the nature of their rendezvous. Things turned sour after the suspect — with five extra guys who showed up — started beating the victim, before nabbing his property and fleeting, cops said.
Safe escape
A thief made off with a man’s jewel-stoked safe after busting into his E. 21st Street home on Aug. 14.
The victim told police that he was returning to his home between Quentin Road and Avenue R at 7:10 pm when he noticed that his kitchen door was ajar. Going upstairs he discovered that his bedroom safe had been lifted.
Checking his surveillance cameras, the man found footage of the thief scampering up his driveway fence onto the roof, and into the house through a window, before exiting — safe in hand — through the kitchen door, cops said.
Parked car pirate
A crook looted a 64-year-old woman’s car she parked on Ocean Avenue on Aug. 15, taking credit cards.
The victim told police that she returned to her car she left between Voorhies and Jerome avenues at 5:30 pm, where she discovered the punk had busted her passenger-side window and nabbed her wallet.
Knife to meet you
Cops arrested a 34-year-old man who they say robbed a guy at knifepoint on Kings Highway on Aug. 15 — taking $500 and the victim’s flowers.
The victim told police that he had just pulled some cash out of an ATM between E. 12th and E. 13th streets at 10:54 pm when the crook waltzed up and pulled a knife on him. Not only did the thief take the man’s money, he also swiped the flowers from his hands, before running for it.
Arrest my neighbor
Some goon has been harassing his neighbor on Avenue T since November of last year, shouting things like, “You’re the biggest cockroach in the world,” police claim.
The victim told police that this particular neighbor, who also lives in his apartment building between W. 21st and W. 22nd streets, has been yelling mean stuff at him and he’d like it if the guy were arrested, according to police.
Fisticuffs
A 33-year-old man was arrested for allegedly punching a man inside an Avenue X nightclub on Aug. 17.
The victim told police that he was inside the club between Shell Road and W. Third Street at 10 pm when the suspect slugged him following an argument.
Tablet taken
A crook looted a man’s car parked inside a Harkness Avenue parking garage on Aug. 17 — taking a Microsoft tablet and a Nokia cellphone.
The victim told police that he left his car in the carport between Plumb Second and Third streets at 6:50 pm, and returned later to find that a thief had wormed his way inside, and snagged a canvass bag containing his property.
Wife trouble
Cops are hunting two thugs for allegedly attacking a man inside a Coney Island Avenue restaurant on Aug. 18.
The victim told police that he was at the eatery between Avenue Y and Gerald Court at 1 am, when someone tried to step in and dance with his wife. When the victim told the guy to scram, one of his buddies came and struck the victim from behind, causing him to fall to the floor where they kicked him in the face, breaking his nose, cops said.
Bar fight
A goon beat a woman outside of a Haring Street watering hole on Aug. 18.
The victim told police she was inside a bar near Avenue U at 3 am when she took the argument she’d been having with the bartender outside. On the street, some other guy attacked her, throwing her to the ground and kicking her in the gut.
